Gilani calls Altaf, Shujaat, Pagara

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday telephoned leaders of various political parties and took them into confidence over prevailing political situation in the country.

Gilani called PML-Q chief Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, MQM leader Altaf Hussain, ANP leader Asfandyar Wali, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PML-F Chief Pir Pagara and others.

According to sources, the Prime Minister exchanged views over political situation in the country besides taking them into confidence over the appointment of Punjab governor.

Gilani was of view that all the political leadership would be taken into confidence after consultation on major decision over national issues.

Pagara Predicts MQM & JUI-F part of next ruling setup

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League Functional’s (PML-F) chief Pir Saheb Pagara has reiterated 2011 the year of polls and predicted that MQM and JUI-F will be the part of new government.

He was talking exclusively to Online Int’l News Agency here in Karachi on Tuesday.

He said next government setup will be political and one amongst these political parties currently active on will grab the crown. He shared his good wishes with new government as he prayed for them.

Replying to questions, Pir Saheb said MQM will never return to federal cabinet as PPP will remain unsuccessful in aligning them. He was of the view that both MQM and JUI-F have played their cards wisely and will be rewarded in next ruling setup accordingly.

He predicted about next ruling party as it will be the same that intermittently appears on political scene every four or five years and then clarified by saying that it will be civilian setup, replying to a query.

No possibility of BB murderers' arrest: Pagara

Chief of PML(F) Pir Pagara has termed investigation into Benazir Bhutto’s assassination a futile exercise and ruled out possibility of the murderers' arrest, report said on Friday. He was talking to mediamen after holding a meeting with AML Chief Sheikh Rashid here at Kingri House. “Now there will be no thumping of army boots,” Pir Pagara made a prediction, but added that a change is inevitable.
