Dear Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani,
Sir, I am truly delighted by your political manoeuvring and how smoothly you worked day and night for bailing out a falling Government. It was very kind of you that you had left personal and party ego behind, then positively pursued a forward reconciliation policy, where you had agreed to accept 'do able' demands and agendas. The strategy worked very well, and today you are back with majority support and still the Prime Minister of Pakistan. In reality, you were given another chance by the coalition and the opposition, as the prevaling mood after Governor Taseer's assassination worked in your favour.
Sir, I hope you understand that the fate of Pakistan is in your able hands, and you did not carry out this exercise for the sake of saving President Zardari position or your highly unpopular Government? You do know that all the agenda points and demands set forth by MQM and PML-N are for the well being of the citizens only, which should have already been in you list of priorities. But, now that you are refreshed of them, you should start with their implementation on war footing so that the country starts believing you that you are a man of principal and would honour the commitments.
Pakistan is going through the most uncertain period of its existence, and it is at a make or break position. Since the Elite force guard proudly confessed to shooting Salmaan Taseer for publically expressing his views on the Blasphemy Law and the need for its revision, we notice the potential Pakistan and our future. We have a population that believes what Mumtaz Qadri did was right, regardless of the fact that its the courts that are supposed to decide, not him! and that the late Governor deserved to be killed under the blasphemy law. On the flip side a considerable number of Pakistanis believe that this assassination was wrong and the murderer should be given exemplary punishment, so similar incidents do not repeat.
You must understand that patience of your countrymen has reached the optimum threshold levels, and one wrong or controversial move from your Government may lead to serious civil disobedience, for which the religious side of the country is preparing, as the reasons range from lack of personal security and essentials.
Sir, you have a Pakistan which is now split by faith, and this split is emotional, religious not ethnic or regional. I can understand it will not be easy job but it is definitely not very difficult and can be manageable if you and you party really wants to? However, if the political stunts were pulled out as 45 days time gaining eye-wash and you have no intention to fulfil the promises made, then please help the future of your children and the country by immediately resigning from the position and calling for elections, under temporary supervision of the Military, Judiciary or even an interim setup.
Sir, I would like for you to move a step ahead and in order to confidently continue until the next elections all you need to do is to once again let go of the party ego and some of the problem makers. Then you must involve all political parties in the decision making process, to identify, expose and punish the corrupt, increase public service efficiency, reduce non-development expenditure, assure no change in Blasphemy law (for the time being) and offer the environment of economic certainty and security.
Rest assured all of Liberal Pakistan is with you, so please don't mess it up this time and fall for the extremists that have penetrated your political party.
