MQM comes up with 9-point charter of economy
MQM has announced its 9-point charter of economy. And it would be presented in the second round of meeting with the economic team of the government.
In a news conference in Islamabad, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that it is inevitable to implement the charter of economy to avoid the Egypt-like situation in the country. Sattar said that IMF delegation told him that condition of imposing RGST was not asked by the IMF instead it was presented by Pakistani team. He said that it is demanded in the charter to impose tax on 6,000 landlords, sugar mafia and the affluent class. He said that demand of land reforms and reforms in public sector enterprises were also included in the charter. He said that additional resources of worth Rs 1000 billion can be attained by implementing the charter of economy.

Pakistan squad announced for World Cup



LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board has announced here on Tuesday a final squad for next month's cricket World Cup to be jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

No captain or vice-captain has yet been announced for the team.

Veteran batsman Mohammad Yousuf and fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed have not been included in the 15-member team.

Squad: Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanveer, Ahmed Shahzad.

KU announces new dates for BA papers

KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) on Thursday announced new dates for the BA Examinations papers, SAMAA reported.

Islamiat paper earlier slated for December 21, will now be held on January 31, Pakistan Studies paper of December 20 on February 1, Urdu (compulsory) paper of December 22 on February 3, Computer Science-III and General History-II papers of December 27, will be arranged on January 30.

KU postponed these papers over concerns regarding the appointment of a security officer at the university campus.
