PCB never asked for asset details: Akmal

KARACHI: Pakistan’s ousted wicket-keeper, Kamran Akmal, has rejected the impression that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked him to present his asset details.
He was talking exclusively to The Sports Encounter scribe here Friday after conducting a meeting with the PCB chairman, Ijaz Butt.
Amid fears on his inclusion into the national team for the ICC World Cup, Kamran Akmal told TSE correspondent that he is hopeful that the apex cricket
body would give him the permission to represent Pakistan in its flagship event.
It is important to mention here that the ICC has extended deadline to January
5, 2011 for the PCB to announce the preliminary 30-man squad for the upcoming world cup after thePakistan cricket authorities asked the ICC to let them select Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, and Danish Kaneria.
Talking about his meeting with the PCB chairman, Akmal claimed that he had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Ijaz Butt.
“I was never asked about submitting my asset details with the PCB”, he claimed.
He expressed his hope that after a fruitful meeting with the PCB chief, he would be able to find himself a place in Pakistan’s world cup squad.
