KARACHI: Eight terrorists of a banned militant outfit have been arrested in a raid from Karachi, police said Sunday.
Acting on a tip off, police raided a house and apprehended eight activists of proscribed Jaish-e-Muhammad. The suspects are allegedly involved in murder of 12 persons.
Police had announced prize money of 200, 000 to 500, 000 for informer these arrested terrorists.

KARACHI: Police in Karachi arrested four men in connection with the massacre which took place at the spare parts market in Shershah, Karachi on October 19, 2010.
Eleven people had been killed on the spot when gunmen had opened indiscriminate fire on the public, while three wounded had later died in the hospital.
The arrested suspects have alleged links to gangs in the Lyari neighbourhood of city, while the main accused, Baba Ladla of the Lyari gang, for whom the government is offering Rs1 million, remains at large.
Earlier the police had arrested 10 suspects from Shershah’s Jahanabad area in the week following the shooting incident.

Pakistan condemns terrorist attack in Iran
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the port City of Chabahar in Iran leading martyrdom of 39 innocent persons and injuring more than 80.
Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit in a statement issued here said, “The Government of Pakistan expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the bereaved families.”
The spokesman said, “The perpetrators of this heinous crime are common enemies of both Iran and Pakistan.”
Referring its close brotherly ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan also expressed its resolve and commitment to closely cooperate with Iran to defeat the menace of terrorism.

KARACHI: Police in Karachi on Wednesday foiled a terror plot planned for the ninth and tenth of Muharram when they arrested a suspected member of the banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.
Addressing the media in Karachi, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raja Umar said the suspect Imamuddin alias Muawia, was arrested from the Ayub Goth area of the city.
The SSP informed that explosive material including suicide bomb jackets, pistols, Kalashnikovs, hand grenades and bullets were also seized in the operation.
Umar said the arrested man had been trained in Afghanistan as a specialist in placing bombs in vehicles and was involved in the Sheraton hotel blast of 2002.
Lahore lacking security arrangement
Administrators of Ashura are not satisfied with the security arrangements in Lahore where 4,000 processions are expected.
The interior ministry has put all law enforcement agencies on high alert and declared more than 180 places in the Lahore as sensitive.
Although over 12,000 policemen are to be deployed to provide security to participants of the processions, local administrators of the processions say no security measures have been implemented so far.
They say no walkthrough gates have been installed or any policemen deployed. They have demanded the government implement the Muharram security plan as soon as possible.
