Zulqarnain pleads for British asylum

LONDON: Former Pakistani cricket team wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider appeared in an interview before British Home Ministry officials to convince them for political asylum.


Pleading for asylum at British Home Ministry office here, wicketkeeper Zulqarnain argued that his life is still at jeopardy in Pakistan; hence, the country was not a safe place for him.


In application, the former cricketer said he should be allowed permanent residence in Britain, as his life is at risk in Pakistan.
