KARACHI: At least 32 people were killed and several others were wounded when a passenger bus smashed into an oil tanker near Nooriabad on Super Highway in the wee hours of Sunday.
The coach with 45 persons on board was going to Sukkur from Karachi when it suffered a head-on collision with the oil tanker.
The crash caused fire, which caught the fire, leaving 32 dead and injuring several others. More than 10 injured passengers were transferred to Civil Hospital in Jamshoro.
Fire tenders rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire.
Director Inspector of General (DIG), Motorway, Aftab Pathan said that the accident happened due to mistake of the coach’s driver.
Jamshoro deputy commissioner Dr. Farooq said that only nine passengers could survive the tragic crash.
